Who first called Outer Banks the "Graveyard of the Atlantic"?

North Carolina coast has more than its share of shipwrecks
(3/10/2010)
(NORFOLK, Va.) -- The Outer Banks area off North Carolina is often called the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" because so many shipwrecks met their fate their, the Virginian-Pilot newspaper reported.
